Triathlon season to begin with West is Best

The local triathlon season begins on March 14 with the West is Best Triathlon. The Sprint Distance and Try-A-Tri races will be held at 7 a.m. at Coconuts on the Beach in Frederiksted.

The Sprint Distance Triathlon will begin with a half-mile swim, followed with a flat 12-mile bike and concluding with a 3-mile run. The Try-A-Tri race will feature a quarter-mile swim, 7-mile bike and 1‚-mile run. 

Race applications can be filled out at Stamina Sports, located at 4A Orange Grove in Christiansted. For more information, please call 719-6749.

Grassroots soccer program

The USVI Soccer Association is conducting a Grassroots Soccer program from 10 a.m. to noon every Saturday at Eulalie Rivera Elementary School.

The program is offered to boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 19. Registration is free.

Parents are asked to contact the association at 719-9707 or 513-0661 for registration information. Registration can also be completed on site. Residents of the Grove Place community are encouraged to enroll their children in the program.
